• To wherever possible, prevent injury from occurring by using the tools of employee training, job coaching, safety facilitations, and ergonomic assessment.
  • To provide appropriate early intervention and first aid for musculoskeletal soreness, injuries, or illnesses resulting from work and non-work related activities.
  • To provide the best care possible by matching the needs of the worker to the appropriate treatment using a “stay at work” mentality for the industrial athlete.
  • As a last resort, provide appropriate prescribed treatment utilizing all recommended modalities, but using the workplace as a means of functional and productive rehabilitation.

  • To wait in the clinic until an injury occurs.
  • To be available only during the hours of 8am to 5pm.
  • To remove the employee from the workplace.
  • To maximize treatment opportunities.

Injury Prevention
  • Participation in new and existing employee training.
  • Development, implementation, and facilitation of workplace stretching programs that are functionally based while maximizing productivity.
  • Working side-by-side with the employees during Job Coaching sessions, whereby employees are observed and then trained in use of proper body mechanics and individualized movement techniques.

Early Intervention
  • Application of musculoskeletal based first aid for the prevention of injury or illness resulting from work or non-work related activities.
  • Prevents “today’s” carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder problems, and back injuries by dealing with it “yesterday”.
Site-based Treatment
  • Provision of prescribed therapy onsite, saving valuable resources such as time and money. Employee walks from line to therapy to line again.
  • Workplace physical demands and modified duty are no longer impediments to return to work, as the employee has never left. Instead the worksite is used for a functionally based “work out” with productivity and expedited full duty releases as a benefit.
  • All common modalities are utilized for clinical portion of treatment and employees “stay at work”; they don’t “return to work”! Modified duty is productive for the employer and rehabilitative for the employee, all under the supervision of the treating therapist.

The Company Analysis Plan The Company Analysis Plan (CAP) is a detailed analysis that identifies the current state of occupational health and safety. The expertise of our occupational health consultants will assess the history of claims, OSHA record keeping logs, safety and ergonomic programs, the injury prevention process, medical provider network and review of medical utilization. A CAP is completed with the assistance of key company personnel and an action plan is reviewed and delivered to determine a more customized on-site plan for your company. The CAP will prompt identification of potential areas requiring intervention.

Ergonomics and Jobsite Evaluations Our consultants study and observe work stations in progress and perform an analysis of high risk areas. We make recommendations for avoidance of hazards related to the specific job task and suggest modifications employees can make to reduce the risk of injury while on  the job. Our experts also identify and qualify essential job functions for current and prospective employees.

Employee Education and Training

Back Education and Body Mechanics Training
-Back education and body mechanics training equips the employees with an understanding of their anatomy and body mechanics to teach them the proper way to handle the  materials when lifting. It also provides them alternative means of lifting to reduce possible back injury and strain.
Seated Workstation Design -Computer workstation training helps employees learn how to set up correct workstations independently. This reduces the risk of musculoskeletal and postural disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) by teaching workers how to reduce exposure to CTS. Injury prevention techniques also include stretching programs.
Train The Trainer -Education and training is implemented with managerial and supervising personnel to integrate them into the role of on-site injury prevention specialist.  In addition to these education programs, an occupational or physical therapist provides training in safety meetings.

Early Intervention Programs
An experienced and licensed physical or occupational therapist is placed on-site for prompt attention of  those employees who may experience early signs and symptoms of a musculoskeletal disorder: The on-site health care professional plays a key role in the prevention process to decrease incidence of workplace injury and illness. Job coaching is a critical component in eliminating at risk behaviors and promoting safe work habits.

On-Site Physical Therapy
The primary goal of the On-Site Therapy Program is to "stay-at-work" not "return-to-work". On-site therapy is an industry trend that provides on-site medical intervention from a licensed occupational or physical therapist. With the CAP analysis, a more defined on-site clinic is presented with the stay-at- work emphasis. Benefits of a transitional return-to-work process, while receiving therapy on-site, reduces lost work hours and medical costs.

Companies that have implemented an on-site intervention program have seen a drastic reduction in injuries and lost-time workdays. Other benefits of an Early Intervention Programs include:

• Reduction in cost of work and non-work related injuries
• Increased company productivity and profitability
• Improved employee morale and decreased worker turnover
• Reduction in hard and soft costs associated with work related injuries and illnesses
• Encourages employee wellness
• Incorporates medical management and avoids medical monitoring
